Until 30 June 2025, the Government will still match your KiwiSaver contributions 50 cents to every $1, up to $521.43. From 1 July, that amount drops by half — and new rules are coming in too.
If you're a KiwiSaver member, you're entitled to Government contribution of 50 cents for every $1 you contribute, up to a maximum of $521.43, for the period ending 30th June 2025.
Starting 1st July 2025, this will be halved to 25 cents per $1 and capped at $260.72, alongside other changes to eligibility criteria.
How to Get the Full contribution this Year:
To receive the full $521.43 for the last time, you’ll need to contribute at least $1,042.86 of your own money between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025. Still a bit short? You have until 30th June 2025 to top up your account to meet the minimum contribution required.
What to do now:
✅ Check your contributions on the myIR portal to see if you're on track—or if you need to make a voluntary contribution.
✅ You can top up your KiwiSaver by transferring money through your provider.
