An important update on our development team in the Ukraine
NZ Compare proudly employs a workforce of diverse and talented humans! The majority of our team are based in Auckland, New Zealand. However, we also employ individual contractors who make up our website and technology development team that are currently based all throughout Ukraine.
The development team is an integral part of our company and they’ve worked for NZ Compare since the conception of Broadband Compare way back in 2016.
We wanted to provide a quick update on how we’re supporting our team over there as they continue to face an incredibly difficult situation.
What’s happening in Ukraine
Like the rest of the world, we have closely monitored the events taking place in Ukraine.
On the 24th February 2022, Russian military forces invaded Ukraine causing major conflict and an unprecedented crisis within the country. Millions of Ukrainians have been forced to flee their home country. The situation is still ongoing.
Our incredible development team are scattered across Ukraine and are being heavily impacted by the events continuing to take place in their country. They are facing a climate of unpredictability and stress as they attempt to endure and get through this situation.
We support our team
The NZ based management team are in daily meetings with our staff to confirm their safety and well-being. We are constantly communicating with the team to provide all the assistance that we can.
Although we’re thousands of kilometres away, we know that there are still many things that we can do to offer our support! Even if it’s just a simple check-in to see how each member of our team is doing, we know it helps keep morale up.
To further show our support, we’ve changed the NZ Compare logo on our homepage to the blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag! A website this team has worked so hard to relaunch, it was the least we could do.
We send our love to the team in Ukraine
Everyone at NZ Compare sends our love and support out to the development team in Ukraine. The gravity of the situation is not lost on us and we will continue to do everything in our power to help our team. Our development team does incredible work and we couldn’t be prouder for them to be part of the NZ Compare family, so we send all our love to them at this tremendously difficult time.
We also want to quickly thank our partners and loyal customers for their patience as we navigate our business and team through these next few months. As our development team faces an unpredictable future, this may cause delays to many of the projects we have in the works for 2022. We thank you for your understanding at this time!
